Protesters Plan to Slow Bay Area Bridge Traffic At 5 PM

The Golden Gate Bridge, Bay Bridge, Dumbarton Bridge are specifically targeted, but others may be included in the San Francisco Bay Area.

BAY AREA — If your plans include crossing one of the bridges in the Bay Area Thursday, it's a good idea to get travel completed as soon as possible. Supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement, upset with a Grand Jury decision in Kentucky on Wednesday, have coordinated to slow traffic Thursday at 5 p.m. The stated goal is gridlock.

If successful, such a move will create backups that will last for hours, based on past traffic jams.

The bridges specifically mentioned are the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, and the Dumbarton Bridge, although others may be included if enough people participate.
