SF Man Arrested In Fatal I-880 Shooting
The California Highway Patrol has arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a motorist Friday hooting was arrested.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The California Highway Patrol has arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of a motorist Friday on northbound Interstate 880 in Oakland.
The CHP said in a press release that Juan Angel Garcia, 25, of San Francisco was taken into custody at 10 a.m. Saturday without incident.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown. According to the CHP, the male victim, whose identity has not yet been confirmed by the Alameda County Coroner, was traveling in a black Honda Civic northbound on I-880, north of Oak Street at 5:15 p.m.

The suspect, who was traveling in a black Lexus sedan, was also northbound on I-880, when he drove to the left of the victim and fired into the victim's vehicle, striking him at least one time. After being shot, the victim veered the Honda to the right, where it struck a guardrail and came to a stop.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene.
