SF Panic Shoppers Amass At Costco Ahead Of Stay-At-Home Order
The latest surge in Bay Area coronavirus cases spurred the return of panic shoppers to a Costco in San Francisco.
SAN FRANCSICO, CA — Amid surging COVID-19 cases, rising hospitalizations and sweeping new restrictions, San Francisco shoppers wasted no time rushing to a Costco on 10th Street Saturday.
Video from Kron4 shows Bay Area residents amassed outside the Costco in a winding line stretching to the parking lot. Shoppers also emptied shelves of toilet paper and paper towels, Kron4 reported.

A second wave of panic shoppers have been seen in many parts of California over the last few weeks as case numbers continued to amount.
Many were undoubtedly were stocking up before three Bay Area counties fall under a stay-at-home order Sunday night as a proactive move ahead of Gov. Gavin Newsom's regional order.

At 10 p.m. Sunday, San Francisco, Contra Costa and Santa Clara counties fall under the lockdown.
The shutdown will close the following services and businesses:
- personal services including hair salons and barbershops
- outdoor dining
- indoor gyms
- drive-in gatherings
- outdoor playgrounds
- museums (indoor and outdoor)
- open-air bus and boat operators
- amusement parks
- indoor and outdoor playgrounds
- movie theaters
- wineries
- bars
- casinos
- dine-in restaurants
The Bay Area reported 2,691 cases across the nine-county area, adding to a total of 164,291 coronavirus cases.
