SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wrapped up, we rounded up all the stories you may have missed Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California’s top stories, you should know the West Coast is experiencing some unusually low tides this summer, and this week is another good one to check out the tide pools during low tide from Tuesday to Saturday. Find your tide schedules here.

Golden Staters should also know that thousands of Californians across the state hit the streets over the weekend to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s bombshell ruling to overturn Roe v. Wade. Most demonstrations were peaceful, but some were violent. Police were caught on camera shoving "Full House" star Jodie Sweetin to the ground, and a protester was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and accused of throwing a makeshift flamethrower at officers.

Gov. Gavin Newsom also signed AB 1666 that would protect women and clinicians who assist with abortions. The bill would shield patients and doctors from civil liability.

“With today’s Supreme Court decision to endanger the health and safety of millions of women across the country, California must do everything it can to protect the fundamental rights of all women – in California and beyond,” Newsom said.
