COMMUTER ALERT: Dense Fog Causing Near Zero Visibility Around Marin
Sensors were reporting visibility of a quarter mile or less in areas on Tuesday, National Weather Service meteorologist Charles Bell said.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning for all valleys and coastal locations in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas.

Officials said visibility will drop to near zero at times across parts of the San Francisco Bay Area. On the water, near zero visibility can make traveling hazardous at any speed, weather service officials said. Officials suggest boaters be prepared for sudden changes in visibility and give themselves extra time to get where they are going.
Weather service officials suggest drivers slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of room between their vehicle and the one in front of them.
