Sausalito police arrested a 58-year-old man who allegedly attempted to flee from officers in Richardson Bay Tuesday afternoon.

The officers pulled next to the boat operated by Sausalito resident Richard Weaver who refused to stop and yelled obscenities at them.
Weaver was going towards a dock on Napa Street and tried to escape from the patrol boat with the help of another boater, identified as 50-year-old Sausalito resident Keven Kiffer, according to police.

Kiffer propelled his small boat and struck the front of the patrol boat, police said.
Neither boat was damaged in the collision, according to police.
Weaver made it to shore only to be arrested by officers waiting for him near the dock, police said.
Weaver was booked into Marin County Jail on suspicion of failing to comply with police orders and failing to stop for a patrol boat, according to police.
Kiffer fled before police could find him and was later reached by phone but uncooperative with authorities.
Police have requested to have criminal charges of reckless boat operation and failing to obey to police commands filed against Kiffer.
