Marin CHP Hosting Free Teen Driver Course

The next installation of the "start smart" program is scheduled for Feb. 18.

The following is a news release from the Marin CHP:

On Wednesday, February 18th, at 7:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be presenting a Start Smart Class at the CHP Marin Area Office which is located at 53 San Clemente Dr., Corte Madera, CA 94925.

The Start Smart program is a cooperative effort between the CHP, allied law enforcement agencies, teenagers, and their parents/guardians. The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions. The goal of the class is to help young drivers and their parents understand the responsibilities associated with driving a motor vehicle. The class will also reveal how poor choices behind the wheel can change the lives of everyone involved. The purpose of this program is to reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to collisions.
