Marin CHP, Novato PD Team Up to Host Teen Driving Course
"The purpose of this program is to reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to collisions," a CHP announcement stated.

The following is a news release from CHP Marin:
On Monday, September 29th, at 7:00 p.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Novato Police Department will be presenting a Start Smart Class at the Novato Police Department which is located at 922 Machin Avenue, Novato, CA 94945.
The Start Smart program is a cooperative effort between the CHP, Novato Police Department, teenagers, and their parents/guardians. The leading cause of death for Americans 15-20 years old is motor vehicle collisions.

The goal of the class is to help young drivers and their parents understand the responsibilities associated with driving a motor vehicle. The class will also reveal how poor choices behind the wheel can change the lives of everyone involved. The purpose of this program is to reduce the number of teen-related injuries and deaths due to collisions.
There is no cost for attending the class. Parents and new drivers interested in attending the class need to RSVP with the Marin CHP office by Friday, September 26th, at (415) 924-1100. Space is limited to the first 30 students and parents, additional classes will be scheduled as needed.
