Marin Oversight Committee Seeks Ag Representative

Expertise needed on Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation group.

The following is a news release from the County of Marin:

The Board of Supervisors is seeking a volunteer for the Marin County Parks Measure A Community Oversight Committee who is knowledgeable of agricultural conservation easements as a method of farmland preservation to represent Marin’s agricultural community.

Marin voters approved the Marin Parks, Open Space and Farmland Preservation Transactions and Use Tax Ordinance (Marin County Ordinance 3586) on Nov. 6, 2012. The volunteer committee members review annual expenditures to ensure conformity to the Ordinance 3586 Expenditure Plan and assist staff in directing an annual audit and preparing an annual report that describes how funds were spent.

All committee members must be Marin residents who are neither elected officials of any government body nor employees from agencies or organizations that either oversee or benefit from the tax receipts of Measure A. This vacancy is open until filled.
