Marin Voters go to the Polls
Council seats up for grabs in San Rafael, San Anselmo and Fairfax.
Voters took to the polls in all parts of Marin County today with local elections that included council races in San Rafael, San Anselmo and Fairfax.
A sampling of turnout at stations in all three towns indicated light turnout.
“We’re getting lots of absentee ballots,” said Mary Ann Gallardo, a volunteer clerk at a San Rafael precinct at the Marin County Office Of Education.

For Betty Stott, a former civics teacher at Richmond High in the East Bay, no election is too small.
“Even though it’s a small election we are voting for people that will represent us locally which is the backbone of our community,” she said as she left the her precinct at First Presbyterian Church Of San Anselmo.
“That is where people learn and people participate and it’s becoming more and more the place where change occurs. You can’t wait for the national government; we bring about more change on the local level.”
