The 2014 Pacific Association Champion San Rafael Pacifics are hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross at the Marin YMCA on Saturday.

Be sure to wear your Pacifics gear for photos with relief pitcher Dan Rodgers, infielders Mike Taylor and Johnny Bekakis, or team mascot Sir Francis the Drake. And don’t forget to bring your baseballs because Bekakis, Rodgers and Taylor will be signing autographs as they take turns welcoming blood donors too.

“The Pacifics have a culture of giving back and are committed to making a positive impact on the community,” said Pacifics Community Relations Coordinator Kim Lofrano. “We are excited about bringing our fans out for a blood drive to help save lives and spend time with some of our terrific players.”

In addition to the players, Assistant General Manager and the Pacifics broadcast voice Vincent Longo will be at the drive to answer any questions you have about the team, their three recent draft picks or Thursday’s acquisition of third baseman Tyger Pederson.

All presenting blood donors will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate for four general admission tickets good any time during the 2015 regular season.* You do not need to belong to the YMCA to participate in the blood drive. The drive coincides with the Marin Y’s Healthy Kids Day, a free day for kids and families to take part in fun activities and education to help everyone make healthy lifestyle choices.
