MINE gallery in Fairfax continues with its Poetry and Prose Reading series. Sunday, September 28, 3pm - 5pm Edie Hartshorne will be reading selected prose and Sandra Cohn will be reading selected poetry.
Edie Hartshorne’s prize winning memoir Light in Blue Shadows has offered solace and hope to hundreds of bereaved families and individuals. In a series of finely rendered vignettes, Hartshorne unfolds the emotional and spiritual odyssey following the unexpected death of her 20 year-old son. Specializing in meditative music, she composes and records on Japanese Koto, Native American, bamboo and clay flutes. In recognition of her work using music for peace (including performances with Thich Nhat Hahn and the Dali Lama) she was elected a Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science
Sandra Cohn poet, has a background in neuropsychology at UCSF, her fascination with brain function and consciousness, drove her to into a deeper inner discovery of the consciousness of spirituality and the vast mystery of life. Sandra, also a world-renowned artist, has shown at galleries from Paris to LA and recently at MINE gallery in Fairfax. She has performed her poetry at art galleries throughout the Bay area and Sonoma. Edie Hartshorne will accompany Sandra’s poetry on the Japanese Koto, Sounding Bowls and Native Flutes.
