The No. 2 lane of eastbound I-580 opened at 9:18 a.m. but the other eastbound lane remains closed, the CHP said.
One of the big-rig’s two trailers caught fire, the CHP said. They were hauling about 50,000 pounds of packages, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

“I saw a coffee table, books, shoes and clothing. We’re not aware of any chemicals in the trailer,” Barclay said.
The big-rig was headed west when it struck and drove along the concrete center divider for about 400 feet around 5:26 a.m., spilling diesel fuel along the way, Barclay said.
The westbound lane was damaged during the crash, Barclay said. The driver, who was not injured, said the big-rig started jerking before the crash, Barclay said. He is not believed to have been driving under the influence, and the CHP will investigate if he fell asleep.
Traffic was diverted around the crash site onto Main Street, then back on westbound I-580, the CHP said.
