Two Men Identified in Highway 101 Motorcycle Pursuit, Crash

The California Highway Patrol Tuesday identified the driver and passenger who were injured in a motorcycle crash during a police pursuit Saturday morning.

The motorcyclist, Christopher Connolly, 25, of Greenbrae, suffered moderate injuries and passenger Aaron Rosas, 21, of Kentfield, suffered major injuries in the crash, CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Both men were taken to Marin General Hospital, Barclay said.

A Mill Valley police officer spotted the men on a black Yamaha motorcycle on the East Blithedale Avenue overpass over U.S. Highway 101 around 2 p.m., police said. Police said the officer followed the motorcycle onto northbound Highway 101 because the driver appeared intoxicated.

The bike was traveling at nearly 100 mph until it exited Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, where Connolly lost control and crashed, Barclay said.

Connolly faces felony counts of DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol greater than 0.08 percent, evading police and an enhancement of having a blood-alcohol level of more than .15 percent, Barclay said.
