The master of the Flash vessel and a crewmember stayed aboard to try to combat the flooding, Coast Guard officials said. Coast Guard crews then arrived and assisted in helping to dewater the vessel and it was towed to Pier 45 in San Francisco.
“Commercial fishing vessel Superfish’s quick response to the urgent marine information broadcast aided in the successful removal of all passengers from a vessel had the situation worsened,” Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Shawn Lansing said in a statement.
