Deputies Arrest Man Suspected of Burglaries Throughout San Mateo County
The Belmont man was arrested after trying to cash a fake check, according to the sheriff's department.

Officers this week arrested a man suspected of burglarizing several homes throughout San Mateo County, according to the San Mateo County Sheriffβs Office.
Deputies responded to a report at 11:09 a.m. Wednesday of the suspect, identified as Belmont resident Kevin Michael Dolf, attempting to cash a fraudulent check at Chavez Supermarket in unincorporated Redwood City, sheriffβs spokesperson Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
Dolf fled to a nearby Jack in the Box restaurant when deputies arrived, but was quickly apprehended, according to Rosenblatt.

βA search of ... Dolfβs vehicle revealed numerous stolen items from residential burglaries thought to be related to burglaries
in Sheriffβs Office jurisdiction as well as that of other surrounding cities including Atherton and Menlo Park,β Rosenblatt said.
Deputies reached out to police agencies in those areas and found that a burglary in Menlo Park had been reported at 10:05 a.m., and that Dolf had the majority of the stolen items, according to Rosenblatt.

βMenlo Park Police were in the midst of their investigation when they got our call,β she said. βIn conjunction with Dolfβs arrest, Menlo Park Police located and recovered the majority of the property from the earlier burglary.β
