DUI Checkpoint in Burlingame This Week

The checkpoint will be held as the long holiday weekend kicks off.

Burlingame police plan to hold a DUI checkpoint in town tonight (Wednesday), it was announced.

The operation will be held at an undisclosed location withing the city, starting at 6 p.m. It will last approximately eight hours, until 2 a.m. Thursday.

Police said local partygoers should beware that police will also be out in full force through the Thanksgiving weekend.

“In addition to DUI/Drivers License Checkpoints, you will also see us making lots of stops during this highly visible enforcement period,” said Burlingame Police Chief Eric Wollman. “If we suspect anyone is driving while under the influence, officers will show zero tolerance for drunk or drugged driving.”

Funding for the DUI operation comes from state and federal grants.
