Peninsula Police Looking for Pair Who Stole Phone, Bike

Police say that the victim the pair stole from was hospitalized following the robbery in South San Francisco.

A South San Francisco resident was assaulted and robbed Monday night while sitting on a bench on the Centennial Trail, police said.

At 9:56 p.m. Monday, the man was talking on his cellphone when he was struck in the back of the head with an unknown object. Two suspects left the scene with his cellphone and bicycle, heading north on the Centennial Trail towards West Orange Avenue.

The victim was transported to a hospital for evaluation and treatment but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, according to police.

Both suspects are described as Hispanic men between the ages of 20 and 25. The first suspect was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans. The second suspect was wearing a baggy white T-shirt, police said.
