San Mateo County sheriff’s officials are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who robbed a man near San Bruno Mountain County Park on Monday night.

The incident began around 9 p.m. Monday when the 22-year-old Sacramento man was at the San Bruno Caltrain station waiting for a southbound train, but then accepted a ride to Palo Alto from one of the suspects, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect then picked up a second suspect in Millbrae and instead of continuing south to Palo Alto, they drove to the entrance of the county park on Guadalupe Canyon Parkway, where the suspects threatened the victim and demanded his wallet and backpack, sheriff’s officials said.

After handing over his property, the victim was allowed to exit the car uninjured and the suspects drove away.

They were last seen driving away in a dark older-model sedan and remained at large as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the sheriff’s office.
