Police Search for Man Who Tried to Snatch Woman's Purse

South San Francisco police say the woman was able to hang onto the bag while the man attempted to rob her.

Police are investigating a Friday night attempted robbery in South San Francisco.

Police said the victim, a Daly City resident, was at the SamTrans bus stop on northbound El Camino Real at Country Club Drive when a man approached her, grabbed her handbag and tried to pull it away.

The woman was able to hold on to the handbag, and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The victim was not injured during the attempted robbery.

Police described the suspect as a man in his early 20s, 5 feet 3 inches tall and about 140 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and dark colored jeans.
