Teen Sought in San Bruno Purse Theft

Police say a teen boy ripped a woman's purse off her arm as she was walking in town this weekend.

Police are seeking a teenager they said robbed a woman of her purse as she walked in San Bruno on Sunday night.

According to San Bruno police, the victim was walking in the 900 block of Cherry Avenue near Bayhill Drive when the male suspect approached her from behind and snatcher her bag.

"The suspect forcibly grabbed theΒ victim’s purse from her shoulder," San Bruno Police Sgt.Β Dermot Downes said in a press statement. Β "After obtaining the victim’s purse, the suspect ranΒ south on Cherry Avenue and entered the front passenger seat of a waiting vehicle thatΒ fled south on Cherry Avenue."

The car was last seen crossing San Bruno Avenue. Β Officers searched the area but the car and the suspect were not located.

Police said the suspect is 16 to 18 years old and about 6 feet tall with a slim build and wore a black hooded sweatshirt.

The suspect was seen getting into a 1990s green Honda Accord with four doors, according to police.
