• Rail line closes due to big wave, high tide damage in south O.C. (ocregister.com) — Rail service through south Orange County is shut down, with Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner currently terminating in San Juan Capistrano and using buses to connect riders between Irvine and Oceanside. Ongoing high tides and powerful waves near San Clemente have eroded slopes and damaged protective rock, forcing emergency stabilization work and leaving no clear timeline yet for full rail reopening.
