Fear Overload Returning For 2021 To San Leandro

Have what it takes to terrify people? The Halloween extravaganza is holding auditions for "scare actors."

SAN LEANDRO, CA — Fear Overload Scream Park, a Halloween-haunt tradition in the East Bay, apparently will make its 2021, spine-tingling return in San Leandro, as organizers are hosting auditions for "scare actors."

Those with a penchant for frightening folks, can sign up for the Sept. 12 hiring event, that includes make-up artists and support crews, as well as spooky staff.

And for those who prefer to be scared, as opposed to doing the scaring, the good news is the terror fest is making its scream-filled comeback, after a year of pandemic-related cancellations of such events.

The acclaimed, haunted walk-thru also is holding casting calls Aug. 14-15 for "scare actors," plus make-up artists and production crews.

"We be lookin' fer new shipmates t' help capture new souls fer Davey Jones' locker!," Pirates of Emerson organizers said.

The hiring event, for those ages 18 and up, will run both days, Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the fairgrounds on Valley Avenue in Pleasanton.

Tickets for the Pirates event are on sale, and capacity is limited — so don't delay on booking your horror-filled adventure. No on-site tickets will be sold, as the event is online tickets sales only, the website states. Info here. Pirates of Emerson's website is here, or check for updates here on Facebook.
