Updated: Fake 'Rockefeller' to Be Arraigned Friday Morning on Murder Charge

The man charged with a 1985 San Marino murder was transported from Massachusetts to California Wednesday.

Updated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday: Gerhartsreiter's arraignment is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. at the LA County Superior Court in Alhambra, Patch confirmed with Gerhartsreiter's attorney Brad Bailey Thursday morning.

Updated at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday: Gerhartsreiter will be arraigned at Alhambra Courthouse Friday, and his attorney, Brad Bailey, told Patch that he estimates it will be some time in the early afternoon, around 2 p.m., but Bailey is still waiting for confirmation from the district attorney.

Responding to , Bailey said he does not know why the extradition date was moved up.

"We still have the right to request a 60-day date for a preliminary hearing," Bailey told Patch Wednesday.

Bailey said Gerhartsreiter--who still refers to himself as Clark Rockefeller--is "still maintaining his innocence."

"We still expect this to be a trial with a jury of his peers," said Bailey.

Updated at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday: Gerhartsreiter will be arraigned Friday, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Department spokesman Steve Whitmore in a Los Angeles Times article Wednesday, and his bail has been set at $10 million.

Christian Karl Gerhartsreieter, a man of many aliases who refers to himself as "Clark Rockefeller," is en route to California to face a 1985 San Marino murder with which he was charged in March.

Gerhartsreiter went by the name Christopher Chichester when he lived in San Marino in the 1980s and is charged with the 1985 murder of John Sohus, whose bones were found in the backyard of a Lorain Road home in 1994.
