The 2012 American Cancer Society Relay For Life of San Mateo will be from Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 10am to Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 10am at the Aragon High School Softball Field.

Relay For Life allows us to celebrate survivors, honors those currently battling cancer, and remember loved ones lost. During this event, there will be various ceremonies, activities, entertainment, and fundraisers, plus people will take turns walking lap around the track, showing that since cancer never sleeps, neither will we.

Where does the money raised go?
- It helps people stay well (for example, ACS provides tips, tools, and online resources to help people set goals and stay motivated to eat healthy and have a healthy lifestyle).
- It helps people get well (for example, the 24-7 National Cancer Information Center, the various online communities, and the ACS patient-centered programs such as Road to Recovery and Reach to Recovery).
- It helps find cures (for example, ACS research was able to confirm the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer, plus develop drugs to treat leukemia and advanced breast cancer)
- It helps us fight back (for example, through the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN), we are able to fight for more cancer funding, for more political support, for more smoke-free environments, and more!)
