San Mateo Police Forum Aims To Address Latino Community Concerns

The two-hour Zoom meeting, which is part of the city's Real Talk San Mateo series, is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

SAN MATEO, CA — The San Mateo Police Department will address concerns of the city’s Latino community in a virtual community forum Thursday night.

The two-hour Zoom meeting, which is part of the city’s Real Talk San Mateo series, is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

The Peninsula Conflict Resolution Center (PCRC) will moderate the discussion during the first hour in which a panel will address multiple topics, including the differences between its department and I.C.E., the importance of reporting crimes, gangs, its outreach to the Latino community during the COVID-19 crisis, and the importance of participation in the U.S. Census.

The PCRC will also ask questions to facilitate conversation among panel members.

A Question & Answer period with involvement from the public will be held during the second hour.

This session will be held on Zoom and will also be live streamed on Facebook Live @CityofSanMateoPolice.
