17-Year-Old Arrested In Fatal San Rafael Shooting: Police

The Marin County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Errol Matthew Friedman, 21, who was found dead in a vehicle at the park.

SAN RAFAEL, CA – Police have arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of shooting and killing a San Anselmo man Monday evening in Pickleweed Park in San Rafael.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. in the park at 50 Canal St., according to San Rafael police. Witnesses said they saw a man running from the scene after the shooting.

The Marin County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Errol Matthew Friedman, 21, who was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound in a vehicle at the park. A forensic post-mortem exam and toxicology testing were scheduled for Wednesday, sheriff's officials said.

Police announced Wednesday night that a teen from Fairfax had been arrested. He was booked at the Marin County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of murder.

The case remains under investigation.
