3 More Coronavirus Deaths Reported In Marin County

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Three more coronavirus-related deaths were reported Wednesday in Marin County, bringing the county's death toll to 23.

Cases at San Quentin State Prison aren't included in the county's numbers. As of Wednesday, there were 1,304 active cases at the prison.

A total of 76 people have been hospitalized due to the virus since Marin's first COVID-19 case was reported on March 8. There were 35 people hospitalized Wednesday, according to the county.

As of Wednesday, there were 16 residential care and skilled nursing facilities in the county with active COVID-19 patients or staff members. That's four more than the previous day.

To date, the majority of confirmed cases in the county have been residents younger than 49 years old, while the majority of hospitalizations and deaths have been residents older than 50 years old, according to county data. The majority of confirmed cases, hospitalizations and deaths have occurred among residents who are male and of white, Hispanic or Asian race/ethnicity.

A total of 35,443 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Marin. This number does not include tests that were completed at San Quentin.

There have been 1,178 documented recoveries, according to the county, which is 82 more than the previous day.
