Artists to Watch in 2011 to Open

The Marin Arts Council will present "Unveiling: Twelve Artists to Watch in 2011," beginning Wednesday at its downtown gallery.

The exhibit, which extends until Aug. 28, will feature the works of five painters, six photographers and one sculptor. 

Artists featured in the "Unveiling" exhibit are: Doarallen Davis, The Artist Hines, Julie Nunes, Rose Steiner, Francis Synder, Mary Macey Butler, Rob Badger, Nita Winters, Mark Rollins, Janice Hughes, Robert Ankrum and Phylis Thelen.

A free public reception is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 13.

The gallery is at 906 Fourth St. and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

 The Marin Arts Council coordinates revolving arts exhibits at the Marin County Civic Center, the Marin Center Redwood foyer, the Marin Community Foundation offices and at its downtown location.
