SAN RAFAEL, CA – After attempting to flee and smashing into a police car at a hotel Tuesday, a male burglary suspect was arrested in connection with a home break-in that occurred earlier this year in San Rafael, but his female cohort is still wanted, according to authorities.

James Pizzagrani, a 33-year-old resident of El Cerrito, was arrested and booked at the Marin County Jail, but his alleged female accomplice, Morgan Baugh, 28 of San Rafael, is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous, the San Rafael Police Department said.

Multiple items were swiped on Feb. 25 from a residence on Blossom Drive in San Rafael -- a burglary that was captured on the home's indoor surveillance cameras, with video showing a man and a woman, and the male appearing to be armed with a handgun, police said.

Detective James Dooley, of the department's investigations unit, identified the male suspect in the video as Pizzagrani, the agency said. After learning Tuesday that Pizzagrani was possibly at a hotel in Richmond, San Rafael detectives, along with officers from the Marin County Major Crimes Task Force and the Richmond Police Department, staked out the Richmond area of Canal and Cutting boulevards.

Police said Pizzagrani was spotted leaving a hotel room and getting into a white car. But when officers attempted to apprehend him, he reportedly put his car in reverse, collided with a marked police unit and tried to flee but was unable to get out of the parking lot and collided with a hotel wall, the department said.

Pizzagrani was taken into custody and booked at the jail.

The female suspect in the burglary video allegedly was identified by law enforcement as Baugh, police said.

"Baugh’s location is unknown at this time," the department said. "She is wanted for armed residential burglary and is considered armed and dangerous. If you see Baugh, please call 911 and do not approach her."
