Crews Continue To Work To Contain The Woodward Fire In Marin
The fire, ignited by lightning, sparked Aug. 18 just south of the Woodward Trail in Point Reyes National Seashore.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Crews continue to work to contain the Woodward Fire in Point Reyes National Seashore. The fire has burned 3,269 acres and was 17 percent contained as of Monday.
"Things are actually going very well for us," said Brandon Cichowski, the operations section chief of Northern Rockies National Incident Management Team 2. "We have a lot of folks out there doing some good work."
A total of 585 firefighting personnel were assigned to the fire Monday, including 14 fire crews, 37 engines, five helicopters, five dozers, four planes and two masticators. Crews planned to continue to mop-up and work to complete burning out along the remaining containment lines to strengthen them and finish building a box around the fire.

Evacuation Orders and Warnings
An evacuation warning was lifted Saturday for the Bolinas area, from state Highway 1 south of Five Brooks, east to the Bolinas Ridge and south through the communities of Bolinas and Dog Town.
All other evacuation orders and warnings around the fire remain in effect, Marin County sheriff's Sgt. Brenton Schneider said during Monday's news briefing.
Evacuation orders remain in effect for Silverhills Road, Fox Drive and Noren Way south of Inverness Park. The communities of Drakes View, Inverness, Inverness Park and Sea Haven are under evacuation warnings.
"Once this firing operation is complete and we feel good about the line, we are having conversations of possibly repopulating the Silverhills are and also lifting some warnings," Schneider said. "But, again, we won't do that until we feel confident that there's no more threat to any of those communities."
Authorities are actively patrolling the areas under evacuation orders and warnings, Schneider added.
"We've had no issues of looting," he said.

Closures
Point Reyes National Seashore remains closed to the pubic until further notice.
Bear Valley Road is closed between Sir Francis Drake and Shoreline Highway. Coastal roadways are restricted to local traffic.
Air Conditions
Moderate air conditions are expected across the area Monday with some periods of dense smoke in the afternoon and evening near the fire, according to the incident management team. Lucas Valley and Lagunitas will likely have poor air quality at night as the smoke settles in the area.
"The smoke's going to be with us here for a while," Marin County Fire Chief Jason Weber said. "This is in heavy timber. It's a smoky fire because we do have the fog intermix, so it's not burning perfectly clear."
