Now touring out of the San Francisco Bay Area, Michelle will take you through the adventures of her life with insightful lyrics, powerful vocals, energetic delivery, and electric violin hooks! The artist and songwriter Michelle will reflect on the experiences she has been through, from the rigid and committed work as a classical violinist and singer during her early days in Northern California, to the happy and festive Celtic music honed in Scotland. From the structured sounds of the classrooms at Berklee School of Music in Boston to the years spent perfecting her storytelling on the stages of the Honky Tonks in Nashville, Michelle has emerged as the professional entertainer guaranteed to please audiences of all ages. Don’t be mistaken by her colorful clothes, her flying red ponytails or her candid smile. Come enjoy great music and a message of hope as we explore favorite
Broadway musicals and deeper spiritual themes in our annual “God on
Broadway” series. Shows in this year’s series are: "The Lion King”
(August 2), “Man of La Mancha” (August 9), “The Music Man” (August 16),
and “Maybe Happy Ending” (August 23). Our pianist/composer John
Steiner and guest musicians will perform songs from each production. 

Rev. Cynthia Cochran-Carney will explore meaningful and humorous
connections between Broadway shows and biblical stories, saying “The
arts inform all aspects of our lives, including our spiritual lives.
Many of the musicals look at challenging social issues, including
racism, poverty, exploitation, and diversity. In this time of
polarization and division, the arts can open us up to see joys and
challenges from someone else’s perspective.” 

Sing, laugh and learn valuable life lessons with us in the sanctuary on
Sundays in August at 9:30 am at First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael,
1510 Fifth Avenue The building is handicap accessible. The services
are livestreamed on YouTube.

This summer, Acterra is proud to present the 2026 Marin Green@Home Tours! This is a free, community-powered event that invites the public to explore innovative, electrified homes. On Saturday, August 29th, from 11AM to 3PM, explore homes throughout Marin County, ranging from new construction to those transitioning away from gas. Gain valuable insights from tour hosts on appliance selection, contractor decisions, installation processes, tax credits, and incentives, making your transition to electric living informed and cost-effective.
Attendees will have the chance to see firsthand a wide variety of electric appliances and environmentally-conscious home upgrades, including energy-efficient heat pumps for heating and cooling, heat pump water heaters, induction cooktops, rainwater catchments, compost bins, electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, battery storage systems, and more. Attendees will also be able to engage with tour hosts to learn about their choices, including financial considerations, rebate programs, contractors, and appliance models.
