Freeze Warning Issued For Bay Area

Freezing temperatures are forecast late Monday night through Tuesday in the San Francisco Bay Area.

BAY AREA, CA — Freezing temperatures are forecast late Monday night through Tuesday in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The National Weather Service issued a freeze warning from midnight Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday for all inland areas of the Bay Area and Monterey Bay Area, including the valleys and hills. A frost advisory has also been issued for coastal and bayside locations.

Widespread overnight lows are expected to range from the mid 20s to the low 30s, according to the National Weather Service.

"A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely," weather officials said. "These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation."

Weather officials advised people to check on the elderly and make sure animals have a warm shelter.
