Marin County Fair Won't Be Affected By Labor Strike

The five-day fair kicks off Saturday, while the county's largest employee union plans to strike for three days starting Sunday.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – The Marin County Fair will not be affected by a planned labor strike, county officials said. The five-day fair kicks off Saturday, while the Marin Association of Public Employees, the county's largest employee union, plans to strike for three days starting Sunday.

The fair will not lose any essential services or programs due to the strike, according to officials. Fairgoers, however, may see picketers at the entrance gates of the Marin County Fairgrounds in San Rafael.

"All carnival rides, performances, exhibits and agricultural shows will continue to offer full programming to our beloved fair-going community," said Gabriella C. Calicchio, director of the county's department of cultural services.
