Marin County Offers Free Webinars On Battery Storage

Residents can get their tech questions answered at two free webinars coordinated by the Marin County Sustainability Team.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – With wildfires and Public Safety Power Shutoff events becoming routine in the San Francisco Bay Area, more Marin County residents are looking into ways to keep the lights on when the power goes out. One strategy is to install battery backup systems.

However, like most home improvement projects, it's not one-size-fits-all and requires a bit of research. Residents can get their tech questions answered at two free webinars coordinated by the Marin County Sustainability Team. Register for one of the two free sessions:

  • Saturday, Nov. 14, 10-11:30 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 6-7:30 p.m.

The webinars will be led by Martin Herzfeld, a certified solar and battery trainer. There will be a basic overview of battery backup technology, cost information and return on investment, a comparison between battery storage and traditional gas generators, how battery systems work with solar photovoltaic systems, home energy efficiency, and the incentive programs that can help pay for these types of home improvement projects.
