Marin County's Vehicle Auction Begins Saturday

A variety of cars, trucks and heavy equipment will be available.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Marin County is auctioning off a variety of vehicles starting Saturday. The online auction, organized by the Marin County Department of Public Works, will offer cars, pickup trucks, SUVs and heavy equipment.

Surplus vehicles and equipment will be offered at below market value, according to the county. The auction is hosted on www.publicsurplus.com, a secure website that specializes in selling surplus government property to the public.

The auction begins at midnight Saturday, July 21, and closes at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28. Details about the auction items will not be available on the website until the auction begins. Vehicles with their corresponding service records will be available to view from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, through Thursday, July 26, at the county's Public Works Garage, located at 6 Peter Behr Drive in San Rafael.

All items are sold "as is" and all sales are final, according to the county. Payments must be received by Public Surplus within five business days of the auction's close. Vehicles must be picked up between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays and within five business days of receipt of payment.
