Police Blotter: Aug. 5 to 11

Autos, sunglasses, Macy's merchandise stolen around San Rafael.

A woman reported that sometime between Aug. 4 and Aug. 5 someone had smashed through a skylight at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Marin at 240Channing Way and used a garden hose to slide down into the administrator's office. The suspect ransacked the room, taking two desktop computers and two monitors, an exterior hard drive and a Laser Jet. The stolen goods were valued at $2,200. Officers found one latent fingerprint on an electric pencil sharpener.

An employee of Sunglass Hut at 5800 Northgate Mall reported at 5:54 p.m on Aug. 5 that five pairs of sunglasses valued at $1,245 had been shoplifted. The glasses included three Versaces at $265, $210 and $200 and two Pradas at $310 and $260. Evidence included security video footage of the theft.

At 10:08 p.m. on Aug. 5 woman reported that her 1994 white Acura Integra had been stolen from the Kohl's parking area at 5010 Northgate Mall. It was entered into the stolen vehicle system.

A man said he had parked his car in the parking lot for the gym at Dominican University of California at about 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 7. When he returned at about 3:30 p.m. his 1993 white Honda Civic was missing. It was entered into the stolen vehicle system.

On Aug. 7 a 1994, a man reported that had left his gray Acura Integra in the parking lot at the Century Theaters at 280 Smith Ranch Road between 6:50 p.m. and 9 p.m. When he returned to the parking spot the car was missing. No evidence of theft was found in the area. The car was entered into the stolen vehicle system.

A victim said his 1994 white Honda Accord had been taken from a parking spot in front of 7 Hillview Ave. between midnight and 8 a.m. on Aug. 8. The car was entered into the stolen vehicle system.

On Aug. 8 at about 11 a.m. a man said he had parked his 1994 gold Jeep Cherokee behind the Falafal Hut at 1115 Fourth St, leaving the keys in the vehicle and the engine running. An unknown supect was seen driving the car out of the parking lot.

Two suspects were taken into custody at about 6 p.m. Aug. 8 after someone had shoplifted about $900 in merchandise from Macy's at Northgate Mall. Moniquea Detrice Vinson, 32, of Marin City, and Nicole J. Dorhan, 34, of Marin City, were booked in Marin County Jail on grand theft and drug possession allegations.

Unknown suspects forced entry into the Silver Screen Video store at 202 Northgate One and stole $775 in cash and a $300 computer during the night of Aug. 8. The burglary was discovered at about 9:34 a.m. Aug. 9.

On Aug. 10 at about 11 a.m. a victim said his 1988 red Chevrolet Beretta had been stolen from a parking spot at 250 Merrydale Road. The victim said the car was in good condition for its age. On each door there was a likeness of a skull and on each front quarter there was a dragon. The rims were painted black and gray. The vehicle had been locked.
