Rotating Power Outages Possible In Marin County
The blackouts may last up to two hours, according to PG&E.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — Pacific Gas and Electric Company informed the County of Marin that residents will likely experience rolling blackouts amid a record-breaking heat wave this week, county officials confirmed.
The power outages may last up to two hours and take place anywhere from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, according to PG&E.
The blackouts have been initiated by the California Independent System Operator, the organization that runs the state's electric grid, due to excessive heat and high energy demand. CAISO has also called a statewide flex alert, a rare measure taken only when extreme heat pushes energy demand past the grid's capacity.
