Watch: Memorial Service For Marin County Sheriff's Deputy

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Family, friends and members of the law enforcement community will gather Friday to celebrate the life of a Marin County sheriff's deputy who died in a car crash. Ryan Zirkle, 24, of Petaluma, was killed March 15 when he crashed on state Route 1.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Marin Center Veterans' Memorial Auditorium at 10 Avenue of the Flags in San Rafael. Doors will open to the public at 10:15 a.m.

There will be no procession before or after the service. While there will be no hard closures in the area, traffic will be impacted due to the large number of attendees expected, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
The San Rafael Police Department issued a traffic advisory at 8:30 a.m. for the area around the Marin County Civic Center. Authorities urged the public to use alternate routes around the area.

Agencies from across Marin County will provide law enforcement services in place of the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, allowing all personnel to attend the service. The county's Jail Lobby and Records Division will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this deployment, there will not be any interruption in emergency service to the community, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.
The memorial service will be live-streamed for the public at www.marinsheriff.org/about-us/in-memoriam.
