‘Kindness Rocks’ Adorn San Ramon Elementary Classrooms, Garden
The student art project was organized in honor of 'Words Matter Week.'

SAN RAMON, CA — Students at Coyote Creek Elementary in San Ramon made "kindness rocks" last week in honor of 'Words Matter Week.' The art project, meant to teach kids about the power of kind words, was a team effort.
The younger students painted the base colors and the fourth and fifth graders later painted positive words on each painted rock. Principal Bill Alpert said the fifth-grade leadership team delivered one rock to every classroom on campus as a keepsake. The special rocks can also be found prominently displayed in the school garden.
"The hope is that when students, staff, and parents see them it will spark them to treat people with kindness and generosity," Alpert said. "We become caring people by doing caring things."
