Overnight Earthquakes Rattle San Ramon
The torrent of temblors continued over the weekend in the Bay Area. One quake hit Sunday night, the other early Monday.

A preliminary 2.9 magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay Sunday night, followed by a 2.6 magnitude at about 2:48 a.m. Monday. Both quakes were centered about a mile from San Ramon, U.S. Geological Survey officials said. The first quake hit at 10:13 p.m., according to USGS officials.
The quakes are just two of hundreds of small quakes that have struck the East Bay in the past few weeks. Officials say the first quake was on the Calaveras Fault while the second was on the Mount Diablo Thrust Fault.
