1. 1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized In Shooting Near San Ramon: Sheriff (patch.com) — Residents near San Ramon are reeling after a deadly shooting at a home on Bollinger Canyon Road in unincorporated San Ramon left one person dead and another hospitalized with a gunshot wound. Contra Costa County sheriff's officials say there is no ongoing threat to the community as detectives and crime lab personnel investigate, and they do not believe a separate Pleasanton murder-suicide is connected.
   

2. Nearly 200 New Homes Coming To Bishop Ranch San Ramon (patch.com) — Nearly 200 new homes are planned at The Trails in Bishop Ranch, adding two neighborhoods of three-story single-family homes and townhomes in northwestern San Ramon by fall 2027. The project is part of a much larger long-term buildout that includes City Village, Canopy, senior and family housing, and a proposed redevelopment of Chevron's former campus into The Orchards neighborhood.
   

3. Two SRVUSD schools get high marks on statewide U.S. News ranking (danvillesanramon.com) — Families in San Ramon can celebrate strong showings in the latest U.S. News high school rankings, with Dougherty Valley High at No. 25 statewide and California High also placing well. Monte Vista, San Ramon Valley, and Venture high schools earned notable spots too, highlighting the San Ramon Valley Unified School District's academic strength compared with nearly 18,000 schools nationwide.
   

4. Access Control, Monitoring & Camera Services (ca.gov) — The City of San Ramon is seeking proposals to upgrade and centralize access control, security monitoring, and camera systems across 15 city facilities, including City Hall and community centers. A mandatory pre-submittal meeting at the San Ramon Community Center is set for September 8, with questions due September 24 and proposals due October 29, 2026.
   

5. Zero Retries Digital Conference (ZRDC) 2026 to Bring Amateur Radio Technology and Innovation to San Ramon (hamweekly.com) — Amateur radio fans will have a new reason to stay in town this fall, as the Zero Retries Digital Conference comes to the Roundhouse Conference Center in San Ramon on October 16, 2026. Timed alongside Pacificon at the nearby San Ramon Marriott, the event will spotlight cutting-edge digital radio, networking and satellite projects, with hands-on talks from active innovators.
