Vandal Suspects Nabbed At Glass House Museum In San Ramon

The pair tried to run, but were stopped by K-9 Officer Blix, officials said.

SAN RAMON, CA – With the help of a police dog, officers arrested two suspects Tuesday night for allegedly breaking into and vandalizing The David and Eliza Glass House Museum in San Ramon, according to authorities.

After responding to an alarm at the historic home at 19953 San Ramon Valley Blvd., the San Ramon Police Department confronted the suspected vandals, police said.

"Both suspects attempted to flee instead of surrendering," the department said. "After a brief meeting with K-9 Blix, both suspects were apprehended, arrested, and booked into jail. Great job by our patrol officers, Officer Gonzalez and K9 Blix!"

The Glass House Museum operated by the San Ramon Historic Foundation, is a white, Italianate Victorian home built in 1877. It was relocated from its original site at Lora Nita Farm to the southern portion of Forest Home Farms park, and, in 2010, it opened as a historic museum that depicts life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Police did not release names or ages of the arrested pair, or any details on damage done to the property.
