SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office correctional officer was arrested this week on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with an inmate and assault by a public officer, the sheriff's office said.
Jenna Baldwin, 35, was arrested Sunday evening and booked into the Santa Cruz County Main Jail, the sheriff's office announced Wednesday in a news release. She was also arrested on suspicion of bringing contraband into the jail.
The sheriff's office said it began investigating the case in May after detectives received a tip that she was having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
