• Santa Monica Police search for additional victims after Calabasas man arrested for indecent exposure (smmirror.com) — Santa Monica police are asking anyone who may have been targeted by a 72-year-old Calabasas man, recently arrested here on suspicion of felony indecent exposure, to contact detectives. Investigators say he posed as a TV producer in a local women's clothing store before exposing himself, and they believe there may be additional victims in Santa Monica or beyond.
• Drew Scott & Coastal Commission Honored at Santa Monica Beach Gala (smdp.com) — Santa Monica residents can join Heal the Bay's Bring Back the Beach Gala on Sept. 24 at the Jonathan Club, supporting local water-quality science and coastal protection. The evening will honor TV personality Drew Scott and the California Coastal Commission, feature dinner, auctions, and storytelling, and aims to raise over $1 million for cleaner, safer Santa Monica-area beaches.
• Bill would pause law enforcement's use of shock gloves (wavepublication.com) — Santa Monica police are among a few departments that have obtained electric shock gloves for testing, but a new statewide bill could soon halt their use. Lawmakers passed AB 2760 to pause wearable electroshock devices while California's Department of Justice studies their safety and impact, leaving Gov. Gavin Newsom to decide by Sept. 30 whether the temporary moratorium becomes law.
