Two Watsonville Juveniles Arrested For Alleged Armed Carjacking of Woman
Three suspects were involved, but one escaped after the trio crashed the car in Santa Cruz, police said.

Two juveniles were arrested Friday in connection with a carjacking in Watsonville. Officers responded at 7:58 p.m. to the area of Crestview Drive and Madison Street in reference to a carjacking that had just occurred.
Police said the victim reported three suspects armed with a firearm demanded her money and cellphone as she was in the driver seat of her vehicle.
Police said one of the suspects pointed the gun at her while another suspect demanded she get out of the vehicle. The victim got out of the vehicle, leaving all of her personal belongings inside, and the suspects got in it and drove away.

Police said a Santa Cruz County deputy later spotted the stolen vehicle traveling on state Highway 1 toward Santa Cruz.
Police said law enforcement officials pursued the vehicle until the driver crashed into a parked car in Santa Cruz.

The three suspects fled the vehicle on foot, but two were later located and taken into custody. Police did not release the identities of the juveniles arrested but did identify them as Watsonville residents.
