Elderly Man Killed In Encino Home Invasion
One man was killed and another was pistol-whipped in Encino home-invasion Wednesday. The killers remain at large.
ENCINO, CA — A man in his 80s was shot and another injured during a home invasion break-in Wednesday in a quiet Encino neighborhood.
The shooting occurred in the 4500 block of Densmore Avenue near the San Diego (405) Freeway just before 5:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Authorities were called to respond to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. They arrived to find a man in his 80s dead at the scene and a second man in his 60s who had been pistol-whipped.

Several shots were fired, and the two attackers fled the scene in a white SUV, CBS2 reported. The suspects' motive for entering the home was not immediately known.

LAPD Detective Sharon Kim told the news station police suspect the attackers may have struck before given the brazen and the violent nature of the home invasion.
Police said the victim would be identified after relatives are notified.
Suspect descriptions were not immediately available.
