The Chicago Way
There has always been a negative connotation given to the political landscape in Chicago. Dirty tricks, election fraud, and downright criminal tactics, have all been a part of that state’s history, particularly Chicago. The political climate in Chicago was known for its radical tradition of highly organized socialists, anarchists and labor unions, albeit underground. There are some who would compare Chicago’s politics to that of New York’s Tammany Hall, a Democratic machine that misruled and robbed New York blind.
Those tactics were used in this past election. The tactic of personal attacks was rampant. Lies were hurled toward the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney. Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid , sent the first shots over the bow with his claim that Governor Romney was a tax cheat. There has been no proof of that insinuation, yet it was sent forth to grow into a media frenzy. Then came the Obama campaign ad alleging that Romney was responsible for a woman’s death from lung cancer. The ad was put out by Priorities, an Obama approved SuperPAC. The ad suggested that Romney killed a man’s wife. Bain Capital (a company which Romney co-founded in 1984) purchased GST Steel in the 1990’s and it went bankrupt in 2001. The plant’s workers were fired and also lost their benefits. Joe Soptic was an employee of GST. The ad puts forth that Soptic’s wife became ill with lung cancer ‘a short time’ after Soptic lost his job and benefits. The reality is that Soptic’s wife had her own insurance and in 2002, or perhaps 2003, she left her job due to an injury. That’s when she lost her healthcare and did not have her husband’s insurance to make up for her lost insurance. According to a notice in the Kansas City Star, Soptic’s wife died in June 2006, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. That is five years after the GST steel plant was closed and more than seven years after Romney left Bain to work on the 2002 Olympics. Again, the media was not into fact checking and jumped at a chance to destroy a good man’s character. I am hardly a ‘journalist’ and it didn’t take me a lot of time to do the research on that timeline.
Even now, after the election….something just doesn’t smell right. There are almost too many discrepancies for me to put into this first blog, but I will do my best to keep it simple.
Obama likely won this election due to election fraud. In Colorado, ten counties had 104% to 140% voter turnout. Some people were actually bragging that they had already voted and voted multiple times. Romney won in every state where a picture ID had to be shown before voting. In Philadelphia polling stations, where GOP inspectors were kicked out, they had 90% voter turnout, 99% voted for Obama. Those polling station inspectors were replaced by the New Black Panthers, who were charged with voter intimidation in the 2008 election. Those charges were narrowed against Minister King Shabazz and dismissed against The New Black Panthers and Jerry Jackson by Attorney General Eric Holder. One out of five registered voters in Ohio is ineligible to vote. The Pew Center for the States estimates “about 24 million ineligible voter registrations, including more than 1.8 million dead people listed as voters; about 2.75 million with voter registrations in more than one state; and about 12 million voter records with incorrect addresses, meaning that the voters moved or errors in the information make it unlikely any mailings can reach them.” We definitely need voter ID laws in ALL states, but that is a topic for another day.
There were instances where a voter would touch the screen to vote for Governor Romney, only to have it return a vote for Obama. Ballots were sent out ‘late’ or ‘lost’ to our military, which is an act that no American should stand for, these brave men and women are fighting for our freedom and one of those is the freedom to be represented in elections. Obama won dozens of Cleveland Districts with 100% of the vote. Photos of Ethiopians being brought to Ohio voting stations by busload, 95% of whom did not speak English, and were told to vote for Obama, straight Democrat ticket. Precinct judges were removed for allowing unregistered voters to cast ballots in Ohio. Boston reported 129% voter turnout, 79% for Obama. In Wood County in Ohio, President Obama won 108% of the vote. In 2012, 106,258 people in Wood County are registered to vote out of an eligible 98,213. St. Lucie County, FL had 141.1% turnout, Obama won county.
This election has been ugly, David Axelrod (senior advisor to Obama) should be ashamed of his dirty campaign tactics to get Obama back to the White House. Romney, a man of great character, had his reputation dragged through the mud by a media that was too lazy to fact-check and in my opinion, have lost all sight of their job description, to report the news, NOT create it! Obama could not run on his dismal record, so he turned to small things, a false ‘war on women’, Big Bird, and lies that had no base in any imaginable truth. God help our country.
