experience that will upgrade your next summer meal! Create your very own
 garlic grater plate and herb stripper out of clay with Director of 
Ceramics, Meg. Students will create and decorate their ceramic pieces, 
our team will fire and glaze them, and they’ll be ready for pickup 
within 3 weeks of creation!

For the Love of Monotype is an
invitation to slow down, explore, and fall in love with one of
printmaking’s most expressive and fascinating techniques.Join
Kelly in this special evening workshop series, which welcomes beginners
and ongoing students.&nbsp; We will create unique prints that can never be
exactly repeated. The art of monotype is a process that is centered
around the creative marks that are made through inking, painting or
drawing onto a flat plexiglass or metal surface. Each impression becomes
a fleeting moment captured on paper in the wonder of the reveal.
Through exercises focused on layers of ink, texture, and gesture,
participants will discover the beauty of spontaneity, embracing both the
marks we make and the surprises that emerge along the way.Whether
you are an experienced artist or completely new to monotype and curious
to explore, this workshop offers a space for experimentation and
creative connection in four paced weeks. Ongoing Intro to Printmaking students will be able to expand on their existing knowledge of monotype technique.&nbsp;Leave with a collection of prints, knowledge of new techniques, and a deeper love for the poetic possibilities of monotype.No
prior printmaking experience is necessary, but is welcomed. This class
requires hand dexterity to maneuver tools and studio equipment. Students
must feel comfortable handling machinery.

 Pavlova is more than a dessert, it is a grand centerpiece designed to 
impress. Celebrate Spring by crafting a meringue masterpiece piled high 
with seasonal fruits, flowers, and a cloud of cream.
​In
 this hands-on workshop, you’ll master both fundamental and intricate 
piping techniques to create a showstopping structure. I will guide you 
step-by-step through making the perfect meringue, seasonal fruit 
compote, and infused cream.
​After
 all the fun, we’ll gather to enjoy our creations over tea. You’ll head 
home with your own personal Pavlova to recreate the magic all weekend 
long.

into two unlined zipper pouches—perfect for storing makeup, art
supplies, small tools or trinkets.
Designed for beginners and
seasoned sewists alike, this workshop shows you step-by-step how to
construct a durable pouch using minimal materials.
Bring a pair of sturdy pants you’re ready to chop, or use materials provided. (Sturdy fabric like denim or chinos work best.)

foundational drawing techniques while sketching the beautiful trees at
Jack London State Park. Each student will choose a tree to draw, and
then spend time rendering their subject while receiving instruction in
proportion and other key drawing skills.Once students have an
established drawing, they will explore the light and shadow on their
tree with inventive colors in watercolor. Practice and build your
observational drawing skills, spend time in nature, and have fun with
color!Discover the meditative benefits of a plein air art
practice, and gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world around
you through close observation and intentional rendering. No prior
drawing experience necessary; beginners welcome. All materials are
provided and all experience and skill levels are welcome!After the workshop you may choose to go hiking, tour the museum, or walk to the ruins of the Wolf House.Important
note: There is a Vehicle Entry Fee of $15. After the kiosk, veer to the
right and proceed to the parking lot. All students will meet the

palette of transparent acrylic paint, focusing on creating a range of 
values from very light to very dark. Through experimentation with three 
different colors you’ll create interesting, subtle textures. Next, 
shapes will be cut from the tissue, followed by working with the pieces 
to develop composition and collage. For the final layer you’ll add marks
 with paint, pens (Micron), inks, and stamps, adding texture and 
interesting effects. You will have extra sheets of tissue to take home 
that you can use later in your collages or paintings. No prior artmaking
 experience required. This is a fun, easy, step-by-step process. All 
materials are provided. Feel free to bring snacks or a bag lunch to eat 
while you work.</a></h3>
