• 'Building on success': City Manager Cristine Alilovich's vision for Sonoma (sonomanews.com) — Sonoma's new permanent city manager, Cristine Alilovich, is outlining how she'll protect the town's small‑city character while tackling tight finances, housing needs, and long‑range planning. She plans to spend her first 100 days listening, strengthening community relationships, and preparing for key budget, parks, and housing decisions that will shape Sonoma's next 20 years.
   

• 9/11 Ceremony Dedicates New Memorial at Sonoma Fire Station (sonomasun.com) — A new 9/11 memorial is now open outside Sonoma Valley Fire District's Station 1 on Second Street West, giving residents a permanent place to reflect and pay respects. Fully funded by the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighter's Association and approved by the City Council, the installation features a World Trade Center steel beam, commemorative bell, lighting, and interpretive plaque, and is accessible around the clock.
   

• City Council to Consider Adopting New Remote Public Access Policies for Meetings (sonomasun.com) — Sonoma residents should know the City Council will consider a new accessibility and remote-participation policy for public meetings on Sept. 16, clarifying how to request ADA accommodations and when Zoom access is offered. Although Sonoma is exempt from new SB 707 rules, the proposal would formalize support for disabled attendees and adjust how remote commenters are handled during general public comment.
